I love colour and pattern and enjoy spending time hand colouring and printing japanese papers to use as collage within my mono prints. These torn pieces of textured and patterned papers together with tiny decorative chigoyami motifs form the backdrop to the deep etched line of dry point. This technique allows me to explore infinite colour combinations making each print unique.
As a gardener I absorb the beauty of plants, trees and wildlife around me through the seasons. My work is greatly influenced by what I see, my images are based and abstracted from sketches, photographs and memories and often feature repetitive motifs.
